Below is a link to a modified version of the Firefox Extension for Amazon EC2. It supports Wowza Pro startup packages. The change is in the Launch Instance(s) dialog. When specifying User Data by selecting Open File, it will now deal correctly with binary files. The file data will be encoded using Base 64 before it is added to the User Data form field.
To install, first uninstall the previous EC2 UI Add-on by select Add-ons from the Firefox Tools menu and click the Uninstall button for the EC2 UI Add-on. It will ask you to restart Firefox. After restart go to this url to install the updated extension: http://wowzamediasystems.s3.amazonaw...ools/ec2ui.xpi Note: I will work with the author of this tool to get this update in the mainline tool. do you have a patch for the original extension?
yours doesn't install on FF 3.0.3 because of unsecure updates. |

We don't. I need to get this functionality into the base ElasticFox plugin. Haven't had time to get to it yet.

I tired to load Firefox Extension for Amazon EC2 and it will not install on FF 3.5.3 because of unsecure updates. Post on 11/12/2008 states the functionality had not been been build into the base ElasticFox plugin as of that date. Has the functionality been added into Elasticfoxsince that date? If not, is there a work around in order to install the Firefox Extension for Amazon EC2 into FF 3.5.3?

This functionality is part of the current ElasticFox. Look for the button "Open Binary File" in the launch dialog.
