Here's our first contribution to the Wowza Labs:





Wowza Integrated Development Environment (Wowza IDE 2) is a free integrated development environment structured to simplify and streamline the tasks of extending, configuring and managing the Wowza Media Systems products. It is an application built on top of the popular Eclipse application framework from the Eclipse Foundation.

There are two options to get the Wowza IDE 2 features. You can download the standalone installers. The standalone installers include the Eclipse IDE for Java Developers along with the Wowza IDE project and class wizards. You can also add the Wowza IDE wizards to an existing Eclipse installation using the Eclipse Software Update mechanism. The instructions for both methods are below:


Get Wowza IDE 2: (standalone installers)
Windows Installation
       
Right-click to download (75 MB)
To install:
Double click the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
Mac OS X Installation
       
Right-click to download (96 MB)
To install:
Double click the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
Get Wowza IDE 2: (software update)
  • Install Eclipse IDE for Java Developers (version 3.5 SR1 [galileo] or greater)
  • Run Eclipse IDE for Java Developers
  • Select menu item Help: Install New Software...
  • In the Available Software dialog, click the Add... button
  • In the Add Site dialog, enter the following information and click the OK button:
    • Name: Wowza IDE 2
    • Location: http://www.wowzamedia.com/wowzaide2
  • In the Available Software dialog, check the box next to the Wowza IDE 2 item and click the Next > button
  • In the Install Details dialog, click the Next > button
  • In the Review Licenses dialog, select the Accept... radio option and click the Finish button
